Traditional Perfume / Attar
Oil-based perfumes and fragrance blends sold in small ornate bottles. Based on traditional Middle Eastern and North African attar perfumery.
History & Cultural Context
Morocco has a long perfume tradition rooted in the use of natural aromatics: rose, jasmine, orange blossom, musk, amber, oud, and sandalwood. Attars are oil-based (not alcohol-based), last longer on skin, and are applied sparingly. Perfume merchants in the medina mix custom blends.
